Why does it lather in salt water?
Coconut oil produces soap salts that aren’t neutralised by the minerals in hard or sea water — unlike most natural soaps. It’s why coconut oil soap was historically used by sailors and coastal communities worldwide.
Is it suitable for dry or sensitive skin?
This formula is optimised for normal to oily skin and active use. If you have dry or sensitive skin, our Olive Oil or Shea Butter soaps are a better fit.
What does 5% superfat mean?
5% of the oils are left unsaponified — they remain on your skin after rinsing as free oils, so even deep cleansing never feels harsh.
Are lye ingredients safe?
Yes. Both KOH and NaOH are fully consumed during saponification. What remains are the gentle, skin-safe salts of the original oils — nothing else.
Does it lather well?
Better than any other single-oil natural soap. Coconut oil produces the richest, most abundant natural lather — without artificial foam boosters.
Shelf life?
12–18 months in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
